The Rural Municipality of Buckland No. 491, with its Municipal Office in downtown Prince Albert, is located north of the City of Prince Albert and the North Saskatchewan River. The municipality extends north just 2 miles past Spruce Home, westerly to include a portion of the Sturgeon Lake Reserve, and east roughly a mile past Prince Albert City limits.
With a competitive tax rate and close proximity to the City of Prince Albert, the RM of Buckland is a desirable location for country residential living. Encompassing the natural beauty of approximately 40,000 acres of the Nisbet Provincial Forest and meandering Shell, Little Red, and Garden Rivers; the RM is also a haven for outdoor enthusiasts.
The RM of Buckland has a population in excess of 3,650 with diverse occupation and land-uses, including forestry, machining, construction, retail, service industry, education, recreation, farming and ranching.
